Indications

Adult Dosing

Duodenal ulcer (active)

1g PO QID (4 times daily) on empty stomach

4-8 weeks

Take 1 hour before meals and at bedtime

Maintenance therapy

1g PO BD

Long-term

Stress ulcer prophylaxis (ICU)

1g via NG tube every 4-6 hours

Maximum daily dose: 4 g/day

Pediatric Dosing

Age Range: All ages
Dose: 40-80 mg/kg/day divided QID
Max/day: 4 g/day

Suspension preferred in young children. Oral mucositis: swish and spit or swallow.
