Indications
- Same as prednisolone
- IV pulse therapy: severe SLE, vasculitis, MS exacerbation, transplant rejection
Adult Dosing
Oral
4-48 mg/day (4 mg methylpred = 5 mg pred)
IV pulse
500-1000 mg IV daily × 3 days for severe inflammation
Pediatric Dosing
Age Range: All ages
Dose: 0.5-1.7 mg/kg/day divided BD-QID
