Indications
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus — adjunct to diet/exercise
- T2DM when metformin is contraindicated or not tolerated
- T2DM in CKD (uniquely suitable — minimal renal dose adjustment needed)
Adult Dosing
T2DM
5 mg PO once daily with or without food
Ongoing
Combination with metformin (Jentadueto)
2.5 mg linagliptin + metformin BD with meals
Pediatric Dosing
T2DM in adolescents: specialist use only; metformin preferred first-line
Renal Dose Adjustment
